1. What is your name and title?
Chris Bright CEO and founder of American Facilities Professionals (AMFAC)
2. How did American Facilities Professionals start?
AMFAC wasn’t always part of Chris’s plan, but over time, it became a true passion. The story began when he was working with a private equity firm that had acquired a landscaping business. At the time, he had experience across several industries, but this was his first venture into the world of facilities management.
As he became more familiar with the industry, he realized that it had not seen much innovation. Facilities management was often overlooked as a career, and the sector lacked fresh ideas, effective marketing, and efficient systems. He saw an opportunity to build something different—a company that would offer a new perspective and transform the way services were provided.
On November 26th, 2018, AMFAC was born. Starting with nothing but a vision, and his determination pushed him to work tirelessly to grow the company. The core ethic of AMFAC is simple: Get the job done, no matter the boundary or obstacle. This approach led to the creation of the company’s mission statement: “Make Mission.”
4. What excites you most about the future of AMFAC?
Chris is enthusiastic about AMFAC’s future and the remarkable growth the company has experienced. Looking back on the journey, he takes great pride in the hard work and challenges that have shaped the business.
One of the most exciting milestones has been the establishment of a full executive team after many years of managing everything himself. This transition has allowed him to concentrate on the broader vision while his capable leadership team takes charge of daily operations.
With immense potential still ahead, Chris firmly believes AMFAC’s best years are yet to come. He is eager for both current and future clients to join in and be part of the company’s ongoing evolution.
5. What has been your favorite project at AMFAC so far?
Some of the most challenging, hands-on projects in the early days of AMFAC turned out to be the most rewarding. One of Chris’s favorite stories involves a job to replace rotting planks at a supermarket. The job was located several hours away, and upon arrival, he discovered a massive infestation of bees and wasps.
At the time, the company didn’t have the resources or time to bring in exterminators without delaying the project and putting out tons of money. Without missing a beat, Chris told his partner, “We’re going to make this mission happen.” Armed with ski masks, gloves, pest control solution, and a lot of determination, they worked through the night, enduring bee stings along the way, to finish the job on time.
The next morning, the client thanked them for completing the work—unaware of the challenges the team had faced the night before. For Chris, this was a defining moment. It solidified the belief that no matter what, AMFAC would always deliver on its promises, with no excuses.
6. What’s one thing you’d like clients to know about you?
In addition to his role in leading AMFAC, He is passionate about personal growth and development. He is a certified scuba instructor and an avid diver. He also holds a private pilot’s license and even made it through three rounds of The Voice.
He believes in continuously growing and learning, which is why he spends half of the year focused on studying strategy and the other half developing tactical skills. Whether it’s for personal or professional growth, he is committed to self-improvement, and that mindset drives the way he has led AMFAC.
